Parents & Guardians:
Below are the times you are permitted to arrive to pick up your student(s).
You may NOT arrive before this time. You will be asked to leave the campus. This is to ensure enough space for the cars for each grade level. Again, do NOT arrive before the time below.
All parents/guardians picking up must go around the full loop. You may NOT enter the main area for parking.
Once on property:
Grades PK-2 - You are allowed to leave your car to greet your student.
Grades 3-6: Please stay in your car and wait for your student to come to you.
If you have students in multiple grades, arrive for the youngest student. Continue to pull forward around the loop to make room for the next age group. We will send older students to you.

Again, if everyone follows these rules, it will go much smoother.
If you arrive to Southern earlier than your time, feel free to park in the Racine Methodist parking lot or the old Family Dollar lot while you wait.
If you have a cell phone, use that time - not the time displayed on your car.

RACINE- Southern High School sophomore Kallie Roush has completed the Community Health Worker classwork requirements for the Ohio Community Health Worker Certification.
This program was made possible through Ohio University, Hopewell Health Centers, and the Center for School-Based Mental Health at Miami University. It involved Kallie and students from across Ohio to attend twice a week virtual classes and 3 in-person classes since January.
“It was a lot of hard work but it was worth it. I learned the core values of being a CHW and made new friends along the way,” Roush explained. “I am thankful for the experience. The program will help me with my future career plans.”
According to Hopewell Health Centers, schools that THRIVE are a coalition to demonstrate a model for building community capacity to grow their behavioral health workforce while also promoting integrated healthcare within the community.
Kallie's dedication and hard work were praised by Erin Lucas, Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Hopewell Health Centers, who said, "Kallie demonstrated diligence, persistence, and dedication to the class and was a pleasure to have in our first cohort."
SHS Principal Daniel Otto praised Kallie, stating, "Kallie is an exceptional student and a hard worker. We are extremely proud of her. What an exciting achievement for her sophomore year."
Kallie is working towards earning her Industry-Recognized Credential Seal, Ohio Means Jobs-Readiness Seal, and Community Health Worker Certification (Ohio Board of Nursing).
Kallie's mother, Brandi Roush, expressed how proud she is of her daughter's dedication to THRIVE, stating, "It’s been a great learning experience for her."
Southern Local would like to thank everyone who made this experience possible.
