VOLLEY 4 CURE

Racine, OH: Southern Volleyball hosts Meigs for their Volley for the Cure game. Tonight’s efforts raised $2,363.50 for the cause.  Efforts to raise money included: raffle drawings for baskets made by each grade, a 50/50 drawing, shirt, sticker and bracelet  sales, etc… The Meigs County Bikers Association was also in attendance to make a donation (an effort they have done at all three Meigs County Schools Volley for the Cure game).  Southern Local and Southern’s Volleyball Teams would like to thank all those that helped make this night possible.

groupSouthern’s Volleyball team members then handed out cookies and mini volleyballs to those in attendance who are currently fighting or have beaten cancer or have lost loved ones to cancer.The game ball was sponsored tonight in memory of Roma Sayre. “Roma loved volleyball. She enjoyed watching her two daughters play and coaching with her husband, Pete. If she was here today, she would be in the stands cheering on these amazing Lady Tornadoes.  Her family would like to congratulate these ladies on a great season and wish them the best of luck throughout the season and tournament.  Finish Strong!

Thank you again to all those that helped in some small or big way to make tonight a success.

Game results were:

  • 7th grade won in 2;

  • 8th grade won in 2;

  • JV won in 2; and
