Teacher of the Month
Courtney Manuel
Courtney is a teacher above all the rest. She is always reinventing her lessons, asking for feedback, and finding new ways to engage her students and become a better student. When challenged with a non- standards mixed grade level Forensic class she has taken the opportunity to have speakers come in, create mock crime scenes, and get students up and interested in a field most don't even consider. Even with this being her first year in the High School; she has challenged the students' rigor, held students and her coworkers to high standards, and been very welcoming and kind to all people she interacts with.
Mrs. Courtney Manuel is always motivating and challenging her students to a higher level of thinking. She gave encouragement to those who needed it, created hands-on activities for students to be engaged in, and challenged her students at all levels. Mrs. Manuel is very proud of her students' hard work and displays their accomplishments outside the classroom. She challenges them to think outside the box and apply what they are learning to the real world. I personally never enjoyed science related topics as a student or adult, but listening to her talk about her classes and hearing the students talk about them; I wish I could be in there learning with them.
Mrs. Courtney Manuel is an exceptional teacher who gives her all to her students. She goes above and beyond to not only help the students learn, but creates unique/ creative ways to get the students involved. Mrs. Manuel really gets into forensics and her lessons. Most of the time I hear the students and Mrs. Manuel talks about what new cases they are learning, how interesting a lab/ activity was, and how cool it is that they get to create and analyze different aspects of crime scenes. I know that if I was a student here that I would be so excited to take that class and do the activities just based on how much I hear other students talk about them. -Amanda Rinaldi
Courtney Manuel decided to move to the high school this year and began teaching classes that she has never taught before. She was so nervous at first, but she is succeeding above what any of us could have imagined. She is inspiring the students to want to learn more and to use many critical thinking skills in the classroom. Courtney has implemented many hands-on activities into the classroom to keep the students engaged and motivated. When talking to the students, they will tell you that they are really enjoying her classes, and that they have learned a lot. She has done a great job so far, and we are excited to have her at the high school!- Kayte Manuel

Jen is always making sure that students know that they are loved and that she is there for them. She is always so positive, and makes sure students are following their expectations. Jen is also always making sure that her students are meeting doing what they should be, and isn't afraid to correct students when needed.- Haley Musser
