MIDDLEPORT, Ohio September 29, 2023- Juniors and seniors at Southern High School were allowed to explore different careers at a job fair put on by Ohio Means Jobs- Meigs County. It was held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the Middleport Church of Christ.
Colleges and businesses in attendance included: the Ohio State Pipe Trades Association, Rio Grande, Hocking College, Farmers Bank, Ohio State Pipe Trades Association, Bob's Market and Greenhouse, Meigs County Public Transit, Buckeye Hills Aspire, Great Clips, West Virginia Division of Corrections (Lakin Correctional Center), and Addus Homecare. Thank you to all the businesses and colleges that participated.
Students were divided into groups, and the group leader guided them to different tables. The students practiced introducing themselves to the college and business representatives. OMJ-Meigs County also provided sample questions to help the students get more out of the experience.
The job fair experience was thanks to the support of SHS Superintendent Tony Deem, SHS Principal Daniel Otto as well as the excellent planning by the staff at OMJ-Meigs County. Thank you for supporting SHS students and preparing them for the future.
